The development of science and technology as well as international relations requires an increase in the quality of human resources, especially in the field of engineering. The government and the DPR have issued Law Number 11 of 2014 concerning Engineering which was followed up by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (RISTEKDIKTI) by mandating 40 universities in Indonesia to open a Professional Engineer Study Program.

Yogyakarta State University's Professional Engineering Study Program (PSPPI) was established in order to carry out the mandate of Law No. 11 of 2014 and the mandate given by the Institutional Directorate of Science, Technology and Higher Education No. 673 / CC4 / KL / 2016 concerning the Assignment of the Professional Engineer Study Program at Yogyakarta State University which was continued with an operational permit No. 217 / KPT / I / 2017. This assignment and mandate is evidence of the Indonesian Government's confidence in Yogyakarta State University as one of the leading universities in Indonesia.

This year, the first batch of graduation from the Professional Engineering Program Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University has been carried out smoothly. The judicium was attended by 25 students consisting of 22 students with cum laude information and 3 students with very satisfying descriptions. Among the judiciary, there were 4 lecturers from the Department of Electronics Engineering and Informatics, namely Dr. Eko Marpanaji, Dr. Fatchul Arifin, Masduki Zakariah, M.T, and Satriyo Agung Dewanto M.Pd. All students are awarded the title Engineer (Ir) along with the rights and authorities attached to the title and will always devote their knowledge to the welfare of society. (SAT / MUS)
